Bankers CD launch
The Public Bar
Friday 22nd March 2004

I had been looking forward to this gig for quite a while. I think they were originally going to have it last week at the Espy, but luckily they didn't as I wouldn't have been able to make it.

I hadn't been to the Public Bar to see a band before so it would at least be interesting to see how they went there. The bands are in the back bar which I swear is at least 10 degrees hotter than the main bar. There was a big fan in there but the bastards wouldn't turn it on!

All this meant is that I ended up watching half of their songs from the main bar as it was too much standing in there after a while. Special mention must go to the bloke who not only danced all night, but slam danced during the Twits set.

The rest of their set was great and I was happy to pick up a copy of their new single "Run Jackie Run"

Due to the number of people up the front dancing, how hot the room was and the 12.30am curfew, the Twits played one of their best sets I have seen. Some people got a bit pissed off by the pushing, but the people slam dancing enjoyed it (even if he did end up a bit bloody at the end.)

The Twits even played a new song called "Fuck the Fuckin' Fucker the Fuckin' Fucker's Fucked!" which went down well with the audience and had a great backing track to it.

Hopefully their planned show on New Year's Eve this year is as good as it will give me something to look forward to after Christmas.
