Richard Hybernators' Birthday
The Hybernators, Box Wars, Sons of Lee Marvin, The Twits
Pint on Punt
Friday, 7th April, 2006
I was looking forward to this show tonight as I have seen the Hybernators play a few times now and I knew Richard was going to do something big for his birthday. As I expected he did do so and I don't know how I am going to top it for my birthday at the Pint later this year.
The Hybernators played first as Richard wanted to get on the piss (as you do) and there were heaps of people up the front. I missed the arrival of the Box Wars, but I did see the devastation they wrought amongst the crowd from the sidelines. It was too dangerous to go near the front, but a lot of people had fun with them.
The Sons of Lee Marvin were the serious band for the night. They were really good and the younger members of the crowd certainly enjoyed them. Hopefully they will go on to bigger things in the future as they seemed very accomplished and had it together on the night.
I didn't stay to see the Twits as I saw them last week so I left after their first couple of songs to get the tram home. I wish I'd stayed after Nari (?) jumped off her chair onto me to give me a hug.
